DHAKA:  Police Tuesday detained 22 leaders of newly-formed committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhattra Dal (JCD), the student wing of BNP, from in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan central office.

Of the detainees ten were identified as Morshed Alam, Akhtar Hossain, Raihanul Islam, Rahman Rumman, Imon, Masud Khan, Mahsin, Monir Hossain, Yusuf and Sajedul. 

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Paltan Thana Officer-In-Charge Morshed Alam said that police detained 8/10 people from  different places including Nayapaltan and they were taken to Thana for quizzing.

On the other hand, BNP Chhatra Dal Office Secretary Abdul Sattar Patwari claimed that police detained 22 leaders from the area. 

JCD leaders have been staging demonstration in favors and against its newly-formed committees, mostly in front of the Nayapaltan office for several days.
