Look into case against Khaleda: Court

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Tuesday asked law enforcement agencies to investigate into the case filed against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on allegation of hurting religious sentiment.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman passed the order at noon and asked officer-in-charge (OC) of Shahbagh Thana to submit the report within November 19.

Earlier in the day, Jananetri Parisad president AB Siddique filed the case with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court for hurting religious sentiment and the court heard the petition around 11:00am.

On October 14, Khaleda Zia exchanged greetings with the members of the country’s Hindu community where she said, “Secularism is just a mask of Awami League mask, in fact, it is an irreligious party in the name of secularism.”
