BNP warns of mass movement

DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday warned of mass movement if the fake case against Khaleda Zia, chairperson of the party, is not withdrawn.

The spokesperson for the party made the forewarning on Tuesday through a press release signed by BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

Condemning and protesting the case against Khaleda, he said this is a conspiracy of the illegal government to destroy the democracy and establish autocracy in the country filing false case against BNP chairperson.

He also protested the arrest of some 22 leaders and activists from BNP central office in city’s Nayapaltan area.

Fakhrul also categorically said “the government is ruling the country brutally”.
