DHAKA: Six activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, were detained with petrol bombs from Monipur area of Mirpur in the city on Thursday.
The detainees are Ajgar Hamid, 22, Iqbal Hossain, 21, Mehedi Hasan, 23, Abu Nayeem, 25, Akash Mahmud, 24 and Farhad Hossain, 23.
Police, however, also found bomb-making materials along with some jihadis books with them.
Mirpur Model Thana Officer-in-Charge Salahuddin Ahmed said, acting on a tip-off, they caught the Shibir men in the dawn from a house of the area.
