KHAGRACHHARI: A dawn-to-dusk hartal enforced by ‘Jela Santras O Chandabaz Protirodh Committee’ is underway across the district since Tuesday morning.

The committee is observing the shutdown demanding trial to the killers of a school teacher of Manikchhari.

Hartal supporters brought out a procession in the morning, parading the district town’s streets. Shops remain closed. No vehicles on intra-district and long routes are plying.

Security has been tightened across the district to avoid any untoward situations.

On Saturday, miscreants shot dead Chinsamg Chowdhury, Headmaster of Gacchabil Collegiate High School of Manikchhari upazila.

Following the day, a murder case was filled with Manikchhari Tahna accusing 10 identified and 7/8 others unidentified people.

Manikchhari Tahna Officer-in-Charge M Shafiqul Islam told banglanews that police is trying to arrest the killers.
