FENI: At least 20 people including local traders were injured in a clash between Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and law enforcement agency personnel on Friday afternoon.

Traffic plying on Shahid Shahidullah Kaiser road was halted for around two and a half hours due to the clash.

Witnesses said JCD activists brought out a procession marking its 36th founding anniversary.

Police personnel charged batons on JCD activists as they hurled cocktails aiming police at Islampur road and they locked into a chase and counter-chase.

Police fired 19 rounds tear-gas shells and 10 rounds rubber bullets to bring the situation under control while JCD activists blasted 5/6 cocktails and vandalized 12-13 shops and six private cars.

District Chhatra Dal president Noimullah Chowdhury claimed that 20 activists of JCD were injured.

Officer-in-Charge of Feni Model Thana Mahbub Morshed told banglanews they were processing to file cases in this regard.
