DHAKA: Police detained at least 10 BNP activists following a clash with the BNP men in front of the party’s chairperson Khaleda Zia’s political office at city’s Gulshan area on Sunday.
Five of the detainees are pro-BNP lawyers - Arifa, Jesmin Aktar, Eliza Akter, Nasrin and Laily.
The clash took place between the BNP men and police after Bikalpadhara Bangladesh president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury and secretary general Major (rted) Mannan went to meet at her there at 12:25pm.
Chase and counter-chases took place awhile, none reported injured.
Meanwhile, policed picked up 10 BNP activists including five female lawyers. Tussles took place between police and BNP men.
