DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi’s brother on Wednesday paid the bill of Apollo Hospitals after he left the hospital secretly in the morning amid tight surveillance of law enforcers.

A competent source from the hospital told banglanews that a total of Tk 56,000 was paid to the hospital authorities for his (Rizvi) medical treatment.

The source added: “Rizvi himself paid Tk 30,000 on the first day of admission. Later, on Wednesday noon, his brother paid the rest Tk 26,000.”

Meanwhile, the hospital authorities filed a general diary (GD) as Rizvi left the hospital without informing anyone.

In response to a question, the source said Rizvi’s wife completed the admission process.

However, none knows whether Rizvi have left the hospital himself or he has been taken by someone from there. When tried to contact with him, his mobile-phone was found switched off. Family members also could not make contact with Rizvi.

Earlier on Saturday midnight, Rizvi was admitted to Apollo Hospitals as he fell sick at Nayapaltan central office.

Since then, Rizvi was undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospitals.

The senior BNP leader had been staying party’s central office since Dec 27.
