Laxmipur police outpost attacked, 2 hurt

LAXMIPUR: Two policemen were injured when a local criminal gang fired gunshots and hurled cocktails targeting a police outpost in Latifpur village under Chandraganj Thana of the district on Tuesday late night.

The injured policemen-- Sub-Inspector Jahangir Alam and constable M Siddique--were admitted to the district Sadar Hospital.

District superintendent of police (SP) Sha MIzan Shafiur Rahman told banglanews that local terrorist gang ‘Zisan Bahini’ fired bullets and exploded cocktails at a makeshift police outpost in the village around 11:45am on Tuesday, leaving the two on-duty lawmen injured.

Police had conducted nightlong drive across the district soon after the attack to nab the culprits.
