DHAKA: The High Court (HC) on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail for four weeks to five pro-BNP lawyers, including Barrister Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and Advocate Sanaullah Miah, in an attempt to murder of police case.

A HC bench of Justice Syed A. B. Mahmudul Huq and Justice Kashefa Hussain passed the order after hearing bail petition filed by the lawyers.

The other three lawyers were Sharif U Ahmed, Fahima Nasrin Munni, and Lipi Akther.

On Monday, pro-BNP lawyers brought out a black flag procession in the court premises. As police barred them, they attacked the cop, leaving a constable injured.

On that day, police filed the lawsuit with Shahbagh Thana on charge of attacking lawmen and injuring a police constable accusing 60 to 70 people.

Of the accused, 15 layers including Mahbub and Sanaullah were named in the case.
