DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Friday placed BNP vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury on five-day remand.
Metropolitan Magistrate Imdadul Haque passed the order in response of 10-day remand plea sought by Shahbagh Thana inspector Shahidul Haque Bhuiyan at around 4:30pm.
General Register officer (GRO) Mahmudur Rahman of Shahbagh Thana confirmed the matter.
Shamsher Mobin’s wife Shaheda Yasmin Chowdhury alleged that the law enforcers detained his husband without any arrest warrant or allegation.
Earlier on Thursday, plainclothes police picked Shamsher Mobin up from his Banani DOHS house in the capital around 11:00pm and took him to the Mintoo Road Detective Branch (DB) office.
