KHULNA: Police detained a district level leader of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student’s wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, and his associate with a shutter gun, three hand-made bombs and two rounds of bullets in Koyra upazila on Friday night.

The detainees are Ayub Ali Mollah, president of Shibir‘s Khulna district south unit, and his associate Asanul Karim.

Tipped-off, police detained them from an abandoned house, near to the office of Jamaat’s upazila unit, around 11:30am and seized arms and ammunitions from their possession.

Khulna District south Thana Officer-In-Charge (OC) Abdur Rashid confirmed the matter to banglanews.
