JESSORE: Police in nightlong drives held 75 people, including leaders and activists of BNP and its key ally Jamaat-e-Islami from different parts of the district.

The drives were conducted from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning.

Confirming the matter, Jessore police spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Reshma Sharmin told banglanews that among the detainees, four were BNP and two others Jamaat activists. The rest are accused of several cases.

The detainees will be produced before the court, she added.
