Falu on 5-day remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday granted five-day remand to Mosaddek Ali Falu, adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, in an attempt to murder case by arson attack on a passenger bus in the city.

Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque passed the remand order in the afternoon when Detective Branch (DB) police produced him before the court with 10-day remand plea.

DB police sought the remand in a case, in which Falu is a suspected defendant, filed with Khilgaon Thana against some 20-25, including top 15 BNP leaders, over an arson attack.

The case statement said, on the night of January 30, the defendants set fire to a Tongi-bound passenger bus at Khilgaon flyover area by blasting a petrol bomb.

DB police officials arrested Falu from in front of Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan political office on February 1 night.
