JESSORE: A total of 43 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its major ally Jamaat-e-Islami were sued over an arson attack in Monirampur upazila of the district.

Monirampur Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Siraj, on Tuesday night, filed the lawsuit making 43 BN P-Jamaat men, including district BNP unit vice president and upazila BNP unit president, accused in the case.

Officer-In-Charge (OC) Mollah Khabir Uddin of the Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police are trying to arrest the accused since the filing of the case.

On Monday night, miscreants hurled petrol bombs at a running fish-laden pick-up van in front of Monirampur Degree College on Jessore-Satkhira road.
