Rizvi on 3-day fresh remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday placed BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on a three-day remand in a case of arson attack filed with Mohammadpur Thana in city.

Metropolitan Magistrate Maruf Hossain passed the remand order in the afternoon when Mohammadpur Thana Sub-Inspector Kamal Krishna Saha produced him before the court after completion of a two-day remand.

The arson attack case was filed with the thana on January 17 on charge of blasting a petrol bomb aiming a passenger bus in the area.

On the night of January 30, RAB-1 personnel arrested Rizvi from Baridhara area in the city and handed over to Badda Thana police on January 31.

Later, he was taken to the Headquarters of Detective Branch (DB) police.

Rizvi was on remand from February 1 to 18 in five different cases.
