DHAKA: Police detained 15 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami, and Jamaat’s student wing Islami Chhattra Shibir in 24-hour drive at different parts of the city until Tuesday morning.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy commissioner (media and public relation department) confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The commissioner said they were held on charge of involving in sabotages at the city’s different places during the blockade and hartal.

Of the arrestees, 11 are BNP men while the rest are Jamaat-Shibir men, he added.
