DHAKA: BNP deferred its Monday’s rally in Suhrawardy Udyan to March 19, after being denied of holding the gathering.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the announcement at the central party office in Nayapaltan Monday (March 12). 

We hope the government will assist us to hold the peaceful program, he said.

Fakhrul also announced rally for Chittagong, Barisal and Rajshahi divisional cities on March 15, 24 and 31 respectively.

However, BNP earlier called the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan of Dhaka Monday, demanding unconditional release of their jailed party chief Khaleda Zia but wasn’t given permission from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
