DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed alleged the government of becoming reckless and making all the steps to keep BNP out of the upcoming national parliamentary polls.
“As the election is drawing near, the government seems to become more reckless. They are hatching all the conspiracies essential for obstructing a fair election,” he said.
Moudud was addressing a meeting of Nagorik Odhikar Andolon Forum, at National Press Club Saturday (May 5).
He also accused the Election Commission (EC) of initiating steps for ensuring win for the ruling party candidates and defeat for the opposition.
“After confining Khaleda Zia and suing all the BNP leaders in false cases, they (the government) are heading in such a manner so that we can’t take part in the polls,” Moudud said further.
BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and executive committee member Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah was also joined the meeting presided over by Nagorik Odhikar Andolon Forum Adviser Hazi Mohammed Masuk Mia.
