RANGPUR: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) detained three suspected members of banned militant outfit Neo-Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat on Thursday night (August 2).
RAB-13 captain Mozammel Huq (PPM, BPM) made the disclosure at a press conference at RAB-13 headquarters on Friday afternoon (August 3).
He said, on intelligence information, a special team of RAB-13 militant prevention cell conducted the raid in a market in the upazila detained the JMB men from a tailor shop.
The detainees are- JMB district Ameer Md Fazle Rabbi alias Rabbu, 25, active member of Gayer-e-Ehsar Shahin Islam, 35 and another member Hasan Masud, 27.
Law enforcers also seized huge amount of books and leaflets related to extremism, four cell phones, Bluetooth headsets, 5 rounds of bullets, one shooter gun, pistol magazine, foreign pistol, cash and national ID cards from their possession, he said.
They were planning on a sabotage mission ahead of the election, he added.
