Shibir-cops clash in capital; bullets, cocktails

DHAKA: Refusing the verdict against Quader Mollah, Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, brought out a procession in the Bijoynagar Water Tank area in the capital on Tuesday noon.

At that time, they blasted several cocktails and vandalized a private car in the area and tried to block the road.

Witnesses said that around 25-30 Shibir activists attended in the procession.

On information, police reached the spot and fired three rounds of tear shells to disperse them. Later, they fired two rounds of rubber bullets when the Shibir activists threw brick bats at police.

No one was held in this connection.
