DHAKA: BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that party chairperson Khaleda Zia has been kept in jail without any treatment despite her ailing physical condition.

Rizvi said it at a press briefing in city’s Naya Paltan party office on Wednesday (October 3).

He said, “Family members of Khaleda Zia went to visit her in old central jail on Tuesday (Oct 2) and found that she has not been provided any treatment by authorities for her illness. Due to illness, she can not move her left hand and leg while barely any physiotherapy has been provided to her.”

The senior BNP leader also alleged that it seems the government has set target to keep Khaleda Zia in physical crisis and make her suffer. That is why no treatment was given to her and it is a classic example of fulfilling vengeance in guise of law. 

Rizvi also demanded for Khaleda Zia’s immediate unconditional release and allow her to get admission in her preferred United Hospital for treatment.
