DHAKA: Gono Forum President and Jatiya Oikyo Front convener Dr. Kamal Hossain has voiced concern over the government’s recent move against political opponents.

Kamal said it in a statement on Tuesday evening (October 23).

He said, “I along with my associates have formed Jatiya Oiyko Front in due process so that other political parties, who also believe in the spirit of Liberation War, can participate in the next Jatiya Sangsad election. It is in line with the view of Prime Minister.”

However, we are very concerned over some recent steps taken by the government and fearing that the environment for a free, fair polls might be hampered. Harassment and detention of political leaders and activists prior to the election are unexpected, the statements said.
