274 Jamaat men sued in Comilla

COMILLA: Police filed a case against 274 leaders and activists of Jamaat-Shibir mentioning 24 names over Wednesday’s clash.

Police sources said that on Wednesday, police and picketers locked into clash at around 07:00am to 08:00am, leaving two police constables injured.

Later, police fired 26 rounds rubber bullets to bring the situation under control, leaving seven Jamaat-Shibir activists injured.

Lakhsam Thana Officer-in-Charge Abul Khayer told banglanews, “Following the matter police filed a case.”

On September 17, Supreme Court Appeal Division sentenced Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah to death for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.

Protesting the verdict Jamaat called 48-hour hartal.
