DHAKA: HM Ershad-led Jatiya Party has got 42 seats from the ruling Awami League as JP is one of the partners of the grand alliance to contest the 11th national polls.
Both of the parties’ sources, AL and JP, confirmed the matter on Friday (December 7).
AL, the main component of the grand alliance, finalized the seats for its alliance partners on Friday (December 7).
AL general Secreteray Obaidul Quader said JP is given 40-42 seats
Earlier, JP demanded 100 seats, but the list was narrowed down to 60. Finally, AL agreed to share 42 seats with JP, according to party insiders.
5 constituencies were given for Workers' Party, 3 for Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB), 2 for Jatiya Party (Manju), 2 for Bangladesh Tariqat Federation, 3 for Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Inu), and 1 for Ambia-led JSD.
The 11th parliamentary elections are slated for December 30.
