DHAKA: Followers of former state minister for education ANM Ehsanul Hoq Milan staged agitation in front of BNP central party office in Nayapaltan as he was denied party nomination for the 11th parliamentary elections.
More than a hundred supporters took position in front of the office, around 11am Saturday (Dec 8). They hurled questions at party senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi “why Milan wasn’t given nomination?”
The angry supporters were heard chanting slogans expressing solidarity for Milan.
Earlier, agitation was also reported in front of BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan on Friday (Dec 7) night as Milan wasn’t nominated while the announcement came for Chandpur-1 constituency.
Sources said, BNP’s Malaysia unit Secretary General Md Mosharraf Hossain has been nominated for the constituency.
However, the protesters alleged the party nominated candidate isn’t a known face among the commoners in the Chandpur constituency.
