DHAKA: Sunday (December 9) is the last date for withdrawing nomination. Aspirants have to withdraw their nominations at Returning Officer’s office within 5:00pm on the day. 

As per poll schedule and Representation of the People Order (RPO), parties and alliances have to send final list of party candidates to returning officers and a copy to the Election Commission.

The returning officers will allocate electoral symbols to the MP candidates on Monday (December 10).

For 300 constituencies in the 11th general election, Dhaka and Chattagram Divisional Commissioners and deputy commissioners have been assigned for discharging duties as Returning Officers.

A total of 3,065 aspirants submitted their nominations forms to vie for the election. 

Of those, 2, 500 aspirants declared valid following the scrutiny and hearing appeals to compete for the general elections. 

All 39 parties registered with the EC gave their party aspirants to compete the election, slated for December 30.
