THAKURGAON: Allegations surfaced over reported vandalism and attack on BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Isalm Alamgir’s motorcade in Danarhat area of the district.

10 people were injured in the incident as it happened on Tuesday morning (December 11).

Glasses of the vehicles including Mirza Fakhrul’s car were cracked, according to the claim of eyewitnesses.

Mirza Fakhrul is contesting the 11th Jatiya Sangsad elections from Thakurgaon-1 constituency. A band of youth attacked on Fakhrul’s motorcade during his electoral campaign at Danarhat area, Taimur Rahman, president of district BNP unit alleged.

Taimur could not identify the attackers but claimed that they were activists of Awami League.

The attackers will be tracked down, said Mostafijur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Thakurgaon police station.
