DHAKA: Jatiya Oikyafront will begin its electoral campaign after offering prayers at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) in Sylhet on Wednesday (December 12).

BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan told reporters following a meeting of the opposition alliance in city’s Nayapaltan on Tuesday (December 11).

“Visiting the shrines in Sylhet, we’ll start our electoral campaign formally. This is the practice. Our Chairperson (Khaleda Zia) used to do it. Therefore, we’ll do so, if Allah wills,” Nazrul Islam Khan said.

Dr Kamal, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President ASM Abdur Rob and Krishak Sramik Janata League President Kader Siddiqui will accompany Nazrul Islam Khan to Sylhet campaign.

After visiting shrines, the alliance will campaign in Sylhet city.
