BOGRA:  BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the government, after sensing defeat in the upcoming election, resorted to the paths of attack and filing cases. 

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the remark at BNP workers' meeting at Shaheed Titu auditorium in Bogra town on Friday (December 14).

Fakhrul is a BNP candidate for Bogura-6 constituency.

“Oikyafront leaders were attacked at such a place of Martyred Intellectuals Mausoleum. The government (Awami League) is bent on foiling the election,” Mirza Fakhrul said.

Mentioning that AL is fearful of sheaf of paddy representing candidates, Mirza Fakhrul asked party leaders and activists to be active and protect countrymen. 

Besides, he also urged party men to cast vote for sheaf of paddy as well as guard polling stations.

The 11th national election is slated for December 30.
