DHAKA: Jatiya Oikyafront, the opposition alliance, has launched it journey to Mymensingh planning to hold seven electioneering rallies on the way.

The journey, led by Nagorik Oikya leader Mahmudur Rahman Manna and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president ASM Abdur Rab, began from city’s Uttara on Saturday (December 15).

Apart from Mahmudur Rahman Manna and ASM Abdur Rab, Bangabir Kader Siddique, BNP Vice Chairman Selima Rahman, BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan are accompanying the journey among others.

BNP Chairperson's media wing member Shayrul Kabir Khan told Banglanews: “Oikyafront will hold rallies in 7 places of Mymensingh division.”

Jatiya Oikyafront was formed on October 13. The platform includes Dr Kamal Hossain-led Gano Forum, ASM Abdur Rab's Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Mahmudur Rahman Manna's Nagorik Oikya, Bangabir Kader Siddique’s Krishak Sramik Janata League, and BNP. Kader Siddique joined the alliance on November 5.

The 11th national election is slated for December 30.
