MOTIJHEEL (DHAKA): Opposition alliance Jatiya Oikyafront stated in the manifesto that they will cancel the much-criticized Digital Security Law, if they can come to power through winning the 11th national polls.

The alliance announced their manifesto at a press conference held at Hotel Purbani International Monday (Dec 17) noon.

“All sorts of corporal punishment in name of remand under police custody will be stopped. None will be arrested in plain clothes” : Mahmudur Rahman Manna was reading out a written statement.

“Those who are accused in false cases will be given compensation. Quick punitive measures will be taken against the police officers who assisted to file false cases,” he added.

Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, JSD President ASM Abdur Rab, Krishak Sramik Janata League President Kader Siddique, Gonoshasthaya Kendra Trustee Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury and Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, among others, were present there.
