DHAKA: The leaders of opposition alliance Jatiya Oikyafront have started a meeting with the Election Commission (EC), for holding discussion on various issues and ‘allegations’ concerning the upcoming national polls.  

The meeting, presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda, started at Nirbachan Bhaban around 2pm.

Other election commissioners and EC Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed are also present. 

The Oikyafront team led by Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain, includes BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, JSD President ASM Abdur Rab, Krishak Sramik Janata League President Kader Siddique, Gonoshasthaya Kendra Trustee Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury and Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, BNP Standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan and Dr Moyeen Khan and Gono Forum Secretary General Mostofa Mohsin Mintu.

The alliance team has placed written complaints to the EC over reported attacks on their candidates and partymen during electioneering.
