DHAKA: Awami League, in its election manifesto, has stated to implement 21 pledges if comes to power through winning the 11th parliamentary elections.
Prime Minister also Awami League President Sheikh Hasina announced the manifesto from hotel Sonargaon on Tuesday (Dec 18).
The manifesto is roughly titled as “Bangladesh on progressive journey of prosperity.”
The spirit of youth and rural development have been emphasized.
Three main pledges are—providing urban facilities in the villages, transforming the youth community into skilled manpower and ensuring employment for them.
Besides, the party has stated to take zero tolerance policy against corruption.
Promises also have been made on women empowerment, gender equality, child welfare and more.
The party that has been ruling Bangladesh from last two regimes since 2009, reiterated its stance against terrorism, drugs, communalism and militancy also.
Awami League is taking part in the elections as 14-party grand alliance. The voting is scheduled for Dec 30.
