TANGAIL: Abdul Latif Siddiqui, an independent candidate for Tangail-4, has been admitted to hospital after he fell sick during his fast unto death for the third straight day protesting the attack on his motorcade on Sunday (Dec 16).

As per advice of physicians, he has been taken to Tangail General Hospital around 9:30am on Wednesday as his physical condition has further been deteriorating.

Earlier on Tuesday, his physical condition has been deteriorated. A medical team visited the venue and requested him to get admitted to a hospital. But he refused to go to a hospital.

After conducting a check-up, Mofazzal Hossain, a heart disease specialist of the hospital told Banglanews that Latif Siddiqui’s blood pressure has increased and his heart rate has also decreased.

He is a patient of diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure, he added.

After the attack, Latif Siddiqui went on fast unto death on the road of deputy commissioner’s office, demanding the arrest of the attackers and withdrawal of the officer-in-charge of Kalihati Police Station in the district.
