MEHERPUR:  Police arrested 22 leaders and activists of BNP-Jamaat during special drives conducted in various areas under three upazilas of the district.

Police under Mujibnagar, Gangni, and Meherpur Sadar police stations launched round the clock drives till Thursday dawn (December 20).

The 22 arrestees will be sent to prison via court, according to Abdul Hasem, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mujibnagar police station.

The arrest was made under cases of acts of sabotage while some were found in possession with hand-made bombs and local weapons.
