NOAKHALI: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said the women folk have received large-scale empowerment during the regime of Sheikh Hasina led government.

“After independence, the Sheikh-Hasina led current government is the most women-friendly one. Women have become much powerful in the regime of Sheikh Hasina. They are leading many significant sectors in this period,” he said.

Quader, also the minister for road, transport & bridges, was addressing a brief rally of women’s in Dhanshali union under Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali.

“The young generation including the men and women are now flocking to ‘boat’. The supporters of ‘paddy sheaf’ (BNP’s symbol) are now joining ‘boat’ by teams countrywide”

He addressed another brief rally at Janata Bazar School Ground in the same union. 

Obaidul Quader is contesting the national elections from Noakhali-5 constituency (Companiganj-Kabirhat).
