Ensure safety of minorities during voting: CEC CEC KM Nurul Huda at the meeting

MYMENSINGH:  Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda asked law enforcement agencies to ensure special security for minorities during voting.

Asking law enforcement agencies to remain alert, CEC said there is no scope to foil election by torturing minorities and creating violence during voting.

Election Commission held a views exchange meeting with its field officials under Mymensingh division.

KM Nurul Huda came up with the directive while addressing the program on Saturday (December 22).

Moreover, CEC urged officials to perform duties with a sense of impartiality, and professionalism.  “Make sure voters can return home after casting votes, especially minorities,” KM Nurul Huda added.

The Electoral Inquiry Committee will start investigating allegations from December 25.

The 11th national election is scheduled for December 30.
