PABNA: Al least three leaders of ruling party sustained injuries as some unidentified miscreants ransacked the election campaign office of Awami League in Bhangura town on Saturday (Dec 22) night.
A group of masked men attacked AL election camp located at Ward no 7 of the municipal town around 11:00pm and blasted cocktails that left three ruling party leaders injured, Masud Rana, officer in charge of Bhabgura Police Station, told banglanews.
Injured Omar Faruk Rana, 50, president of Bhangura municipality unit AL, Sohel Rana, 28, a leader of municipality unit Jubo League, Nahid Hossain, 18 and general secretary of Ward unit Chhatra League were admitted to upazila health complex.
Investigation is going on over the incident. Drives are underway to arrest the attackers. Additional police have been deployed in the area, the OC added.
The 11th parliamentary election is scheduled to be held on December 30.
