BOGRA:  Police arrested twenty-one BNP leaders and activists in drives conducted at various upazilas of the district.

The drives began on Tuesday night (December 25) and ended on Wednesday dawn (December 26).

A motorcade of a grand alliance candidate Shariful Islam Jinna was attacked during election campaign at Vayerpukur area on December 17.

After the attack, a case was filed against BNP men with Shibganj police station. Afterwards, they were arrested.

“All the arrestees are accused in cases. No one was arrested on grounds of party orientation,” Mizanur Rahamn, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibganj police station told Banglanews.
