DHAKA: Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak said the Oikyafront leaders are raising false accusations with an ill intention to foil the national elections. 

“The demand of Chief Election Commissioner’s (CEC) resignation is only a maneuver to foil the elections while the voting day is just three days away,” he said. 

Nanak was briefing reporters at Awami League President’s Political Office in Dhanmondi on Wednesday (Dec 26).

He urged the countrymen to stay alert concerning Oikyafront’s ‘tactics’.

“It possibly won’t matter if anyone exits the polls. The elections will be competitive,” Nanak said in reply to a query from the reporters.

Awami League Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman, Organizing Secretaries AFM Bahauddin Nasim, BM Mozammel Haque and Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, among others, were present there.
