DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has called on his party leaders and activists not to behave foul with the opposition quarters while celebrating the win of Sunday’s elections.
“We have earned landslide victory. Celebrate the win in low-key arrangements. Do not misbehave with anyone outside the home,” he said.
Quader was talking to the reporters to the residents of his Noakhali constituency Monday (Dec 31).
“No intemperance can be done with the opposition-- it is the party chief’s order for the leaders and activists,” he added.
The minister for road transport & bridges further said the government will complete the incomplete development works gradually for which the people have to keep patience.
However, Quader bagged 2,52,744 votes to win over BNP Standing committee member Moudud Ahmed from Noakhali-5 (Companiganj-Kabirhat) constituency.
He also congratulated party leaders and activists for the victory in the 11th parliamentary elections.
