New cabinet to take oath before Jan 10: Quader

DHAKA: The members of new cabinet will swear in by January 10, the historic homecoming day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Qauder said this while talking to reporters at political office of Awami League President in city’s Dhanmondi area on Tuesday (Jan 1).

Earlier, the newly elected lawmakers of Awami League will take oath on Thursday (Jan 1), says Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu.

He said the Election Commission (EC) will announce official results of the 11th parliamentary elections and publish gazette notifications within one or two days. Then MPs-elect will take oath.

“I hope the new cabinet will be formed before January 10 which is the historic homecoming day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman”, Obaidul added.

Asked, ‘Oikyafront MPs-elect won't take oath’, the AL leader said “I urge them to take oath showing respect to the people’s mandate.”
