NOAKHALI:  BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Jatiya Oikyafront leaders paid a visit to the woman who was gang raped over casting her ballot for a sheaf of paddy candidate in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali.

The leaders visited her at Noakhali General Hospital around 12:30 pm on Saturday (January 5).

The 32-year old woman was gang-raped by a group of men on the night of Dec 31, because she had voted for an opposition party candidate in 11th parliamentary election, alleged her husband.

The husband of the victim filed a case with Char Jabbar Police Station, accusing nine persons.

So far, the accused were arrested.

A three-member committee of National Human Rights Commission Bangladesh was formed to investigate the incident of gang rape.
