DHAKA: Outgoing Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said Bangladesh has secured a trusted position in the world sphere as the country has uplifted its status to a middle-income one by own capability.
And the prestigious position has been possible for Bangladesh’s people and administration, he said.
He was addressing media with other outgoing personnel of finance and banking divisions, on occasion of farewell reception at the conference room of finance ministry on Monday (Jan 7).
“We have uplifted Bangladesh in last 10 years. I feel myself lucky for playing role to take Bangladesh to this status. But the development activities wouldn’t have been possible without response of the commoners. Besides, the administration played important role,” he said.
AMA Muhith further expressed his hope Bangladesh will find further prestigious status after the Awami League-led government’s third straight regime and none can resist the pace of this ascending journey.
Outgoing State Minister for Finance & Planning MA Mannan, Comptroller and Auditor General Muslim Chowdhury, Banking Division Secretary Asadul Islam, Finance Secretary Abdul Rouf Talukder and Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir, among others, were present.
