DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Hundreds of thousands of Awami League supporters joined the grand rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka to celebrate the party’s landslide victory in the Dec 30 nationals elections.

Supporters and activists in small groups were seen heading towards the venue from Shahbagh Square, Dhaka University (DU) campus and other adjacent areas Saturday (Jan 19) noon. 

Awami League and its associate wings’ members were chanting slogans in small processions headed to the Udyan.

The grand rally was scheduled for 2:30pm.

It will be addressed by the party president Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other leaders.

However, Awami League formed government for third straight time while Sheikh Hasina have become the prime minister for fourth time, by winning the 11th national elections by a large margin.
