DHAKA: Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury, MP from Madaripur-1 constituency, has been appointed as the chief whip of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad.

Six whips, with status of state minister, have also been appointed in the parliament.

President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday (Jan 30) approved the appointment of chief whip and six whips in the parliament. Later, parliament secretariat issued a gazette notification in this regard.

The whips are Atiur Rahman Atik from Sherpur-1, Iqbalur Rahim from Dinajpur-3, Mahabub Ara Begum Gini from Gaibandha-2, Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury of Chattogram-12, Panchanan Biswas from Khulna-1 and Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon from Jaipurhat-2.
