CHANDPUR: At least eight people were injured in a clash between Jamaat-Shibir activists and police in Chandpur city inter bus stand area on Monday morning.

Witness said that Jamaat-Shibir activists brought out a procession in Sharnakhola Road at around 10:30am as a part of their countrywide protest.

They locked into a clash with the law enforcers obstructed them.

Later Jamaat-Shibir men blasted around 10-15 cocktails and tried to vandalize vehicles. However police opened fire to take the situation under control and avoid further violence.

Moreover the clash led eight people injured and police nabbed five activists in this connection.

Chandpur Model Thana Officer-in-Charge Mahbub Morshed confirmed the matter to banglanews.
