BCL activist killed over factional clash in Gazipur

GAZIPUR: An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was killed during a factional clash between two groups in Gazipur City Corporation.

The incident happened at Boran Munsipara road area under Tongi East Police Station around 7:45 pm on Friday (March 1).

The deceased was identified as Prince Mahmud Nahid, 28, son of Jahirul Islam, of Datta Para under Tongi East Police Station. He was a member of local unit of BCL.

The clash happened over cricket.  The other group members, after stabbing Prince, fled the spot, Shuvo Mandal, sub inspector of Tongi East Police Station said.

The body was sent to Gazipur Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Legal action will be taken in this regard, SI said.
