DHAKA: Prime Minister and also Awami League president Sheikh Hasina visited ailing Road Transport & Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital.
After returning to Dhaka from Rajshahi, the premier rushed to the hospital around 3:30pm on Sunday (March 3).
Earlier in the day, PM Hasina attended the “national standard” handing over ceremony of the Bangladesh Infantry Regiments (BIR)-7th, 8th, 9th and 10th at Rajshahi Cantonment.
From Rajshahi, Sheikh Hasina has been inquiring about his health condition, Obaidul Quader’s Public Relations Officer Abu Naser told Banglanews.
The minister was taken to BSMMU around 9:15am soon after he felt chest pain and then shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Later, the road transport minister has been shifted to Coronary Care Unit (CCU) as his condition has been deteriorating. As per the angiogram report he has three arterial blocks. One of the blocks has been removed by implanting ring in the heart.
Abu Naser said the minister was suffering breathing problems after Fazr prayer.
